Hello All, the COMPLETE text of the testimony, to DC Department of Housing and Community Development, as rendered by PP on November 19, 2009 at the Reeves center, has been posted

In the coming days and weeks, we will be tailoring the testimony and submitting it to DC Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, and to as many members of the DC City Council as possible... As usual we will keep you updated of our progress

On Thursday November 12, two members of PP showed up to the UNAIDS conference series entited, 'HIV, Human Rights and Injection Drug Users.' The event was held in the Capitol Hill Visitor Center in Washington DC. Just like Positive Places strongly believes that housing is a human right and not just a commodity, the conference was to emphasize the importance of needle exchange program as a human right component to address the HIV epidemic happening worldwide among injection drug users. There are 16 million injection drug users world wide and 3 million are HIV positive. Here are some pix from the event...

Positive Places has decided to start a new blog to,keep supporters like you, updated of all the exciting events in which we will part take in the coming months. This committee which is a part of Metro Washington Public Health Association, consists of only a handful of public health advocates and 'change-agents' but each of us are committed to fighting for safe secure housing for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in DC... It is a challenge that we cannot accomplish alone...So join us in this good fight which will play a small but a significant role in ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic in our nation's capital.
